Football Tradition Discussion @ Library

The program on Sept. 12 will begin with a light supper at 6:00, followed by video clips and a discussion of tradition and football.  Jim Unruh, science teacher and football coach, will be our special guest.  We will also discuss the book Friday Night Lights by H.G. Bissinger.  Copies of the book are available for check-out at the library, but all adults and high school students are welcome to attend even if they have not read the book.

This program is part of a "Pushing the Limits" series, a reading, viewing and discussion program for aduilts in communities served by rural libraries, made possible by a grant from the National Science Foundation.

The program is free, and you do not need to be a resident of the district to attend.  Pre-registration by Sept. 9 is appreciated.  Call the Library, 217-357-3232 or email

In addition, a related movie will be shown at the Library on Thursday, Sept. 19 at 6:00 pm.  The movie is rated PG-13.  This showing is made possible by a movie license funded by the Friends of the Library.  Popcorn and beverages will be served.
