Preschool Story Hour at the Library

Stories, crafts and activities for children ages 3-5.

Parents are welcome to stay but not required to so. Younger children may attend with an adult. All programs are free of charge. Call the library at (217) 357-3232 to pre-register.

Summer PreSchool Story Hours Begin @ Library

Activity sessions for PreSchool children (3-5 years) will be held from 9:30-10:45 am on Thursday mornings, June 8-29 & July 12-26. Parents are not required to attend unless the child is under 3. Older children may also attend.

If Thursday mornings are not convenient, PreSchoolers may attend the Tuesday morning (9;30-11:00) or Wednesday afternoon (1:30-3:00) sessions with an adult.

Activity sessions will include books, crafts, activities, and snacks. The themes for these sessions include: Robots, Tools, Interior Design, Buildings & Structures, Animal Architects, Mad Science and Kids in the Kitchen.

Teen/Tween Activity Sessions begin at Library

Middle School and High School students are encouraged to attend the Tween/Teen activity sessions from 1:30-3:00 on Thursdays June 8-29, July 13-27). Plans include architecture, Pinterest crafts, LEGO Mindstorm, and cupcake decorating wars. Students who attend the June 8 session will be making suggestions for activities for upcoming sessions. T(w)eens are also welcome and needed to assist with the activity sessions for children on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, and Wednesday afternoons.
