Carthage, founded in 1837, is the county seat of Hancock County and is located in West Central Illinois. The population is 2,490 as of the 2020 census.     The City of Carthage will be taking bids for roof replacement on the Kibbe Museum. Bid specifications can be picked up at City Hall by prospective bidders. Bids for this project need to be delivered to the City Hall by March 29th at 4:00pm.
