March 7 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Carthage Public Library invites you to attend “History of American Pies,” featuring stories and history of pie in the U.S. and Illinois.
Presenter Catherine Lambrecht, a veteran of culinary competitions and an editor of “Heirloom Recipes from the Illinois State Fair,” will also demonstrate how to make a pie crust. Attendees are encouraged to bring a favorite pie recipe (& story) to share. The program is free. The Friends of the Library will serve slices of pie for a free will donation.

The program will be held at the Carthage Baptist Church at 6:00 pm on Thursday, March 7. This event is being offered by Carthage Public Library District in partnership with Illinois Humanities. The Illinois Humanities Road Scholars Speakers Bureau invites Illinois authors, artists, and educators to share their expertise and enthusiasm with people throughout the state, enabling local nonprofit organizations to present free-admission cultural programs to their communities.
