APPRECIATION DAYS
This event allows the Carthage merchants to say "THANKS!" to all of their customers by putting items on sale. A dinner is usually served on the square, and some entertainment is often made available. Moonlight Madness is also held. As time nears for this year's event, please check out the details on the web site. Find them via the calendar of events page.
STRAWBERRY STRUT
This consists of a 1-mile walk, a 1-mile run, and 5-mile walk, and a 5-mile run. It's been held for over 20 years, and is a sanctioned race. Registration starts at 7:30 AM on Saturday morning of Appreciation Days weekend, at the courthouse in Carthage. The race starts on the square, and goes around Lake road (watch those killer hills!) and back to the square. The race draws runners from all over the mid-west.
